We need your help

The NHS 10 Year Health Plan proposes to abolish Healthwatch England and 152 local Healthwatch. This will transfer functions ‘in-house’ to local authorities and NHS Integrated Care Boards.

If this goes ahead as planned, it will remove the only collective, independent, and statutory opportunity for the public to hold the NHS and social care system to account.

 Local Healthwatch has put together a petition calling on the government to protect the independence of people’s voices in health and social care for the future.

We ask for your support in signing this petition

As chosen by people in Barnsley, our first health priority to 2025/26 is Women's Health.

We need to know about your experience on issues like;

  • Menstrual Health and Gynaecological Conditions
  • Menopause
  • Mental health and well-being
  • Cancers
  • Healthy ageing and long-term conditions

We would like to hear from a variety of people, from young people who have started their periods to people living with later-life concerns.

Make your voice count and fill in our short survey today!

The survey closes on Monday 22nd September at 4 pm.

As another one of part of our priorities for 2024/25, we've been looking at the mental health provision and perception in Barnsley. One key area we looked at was the mental wellbeing of our own staff and volunteers.
