CQC rates Barnsley Residential Nursing and Social Care Home as good.

The Care Quality Commission has rated Holly Tree Lodge in Shafton as overall Good following an inspection in September 2025.

Holly Tree Lodge run by Trust Care Ltd is a care home with nursing which provides personal care to adults, some of whom were living with dementia or physical disabilities. At the time of the inspection 40 people lived at the service. The service was previously rated good; at this inspection the service was rated good overall and outstanding in caring.

Inspectors found

  • The service proactively worked with people and their families to understand people goals and wishes.
  • Bespoke plans were in place to support people to work towards the things that were important to them.
  • People’s achievements were celebrated within the service.
  • Staff and leaders worked innovatively to promote people’s independence and actively monitored the impact of interventions.

Staff told Inspectors that they enjoyed their jobs and felt supported in their roles. Leaders at the service actively sought feedback from staff, people and their relatives to help shape the service. The service was managed well, regular governance and auditing activities ensured that any problems were identified and addressed quickly.
